CEO Bill McDermott told CNBC&#8217;s &#8220;Squawk on the Street&#8221; on Tuesday. &#8220;In this AI world, especially with the agents, you&#8217;re going to need to protect these enterprises [because] every intrusion is a multi-million dollar problem.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>ServiceNow said the deal is expected to close in the second half of next year, financed by a combination of cash and debt. <\/p>\n<p>The company has been on an acquisition spree in 2025 as it sought to accelerate growth, McDermott  said. <\/p>\n<p>ServiceNow announced a deal for<a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.servicenow.com\/press-releases\/details\/2025\/ServiceNow-to-extend-leading-agentic-AI-to-every-employee-for-every-corner-of-the-business-with-acquisition-of-Moveworks-03-10-2025-traffic\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> AI agent platform Moveworks <\/a>for $2.85 billion in March, and at the beginning of December, said it would acquire<a href=\"https:\/\/veza.com\/company\/press-room\/servicenow-to-expand-security-portfolio-with-acquisition-of-vezas-leading-ai-native-identity-security-platform\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> identity security platform Veza<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;ServiceNow will have the only AI control tower that drives workflow, action and business outcomes across all of these environments,&#8221; McDermott added. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p>Bloomberg first reported earlier this month that Armis was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/12\/14\/servicenow-reportedly-in-talks-to-acquire-cybersecurity-startup-armis.html\">exploring a possible $7 billion deal<\/a> with ServiceNow. <\/p>\n<p>In November, the California-based company, which helps businesses protect internet-connected devices from cyber risks, said it had raised $435 million at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/11\/05\/armis-raises-435-million-at-6point1-billion-valuation.html\">$6.1 billion valuation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, co-founder Yevgeny Dibrov told CNBC that Armis was looking to go public in 2026 or 2027, but his main objective was to surpass $1 billion in annual recurring revenues. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The need for what Armis is doing and what we are building, in this cyber exposure management and security platform, is just increasing,&#8221;\u00a0he said, adding that there&#8217;s &#8220;very unique and huge&#8221; demand for its tools. <\/p>\n<p>Many companies have opted to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/10\/07\/ipo-market-startups-staying-private-longer-alternative-capital.html\">stay private for longer<\/a> or get acquired as a turbulent initial public offering market has begun to rebound. Large companies such as Stripe and Databricks have found an influx of capital in private markets.  <\/p>\n<p>In the age of AI, companies are spending more on cybersecurity to protect against increasingly sophisticated threats. <\/p>\n<p>This year has also been significant for major cybersecurity deals as companies look to enhance their threat protection capabilities. That includes Google&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/03\/18\/google-to-acquire-cloud-security-startup-wiz-for-32-billion.html\">$32 billion acquisition<\/a> of cloud security startup Wiz and Palo Alto Networks&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/07\/30\/palo-alto-networks-cyberark-deal.html\">$25 billion deal<\/a> for CyberArk. <\/p>\n<p>ServiceNow said Armis has topped $340 million in annual recurring revenue with 50% year-over-year growth, up from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.armis.com\/newsroom\/press\/armis-surpasses-300m-arr-as-demand-for-exposure-management-security-soars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$300 million<\/a> disclosed in August. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ServiceNow will acquire cybersecurity startup Armis in a cash deal valued at $7.75 billion, the company said Tuesday.
