It&#8217;s not working,&#8221; Irenic wrote in its letter, published on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.savesnapnow.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">savesnapnow.com<\/a> alongside a presentation of recommendations.<\/p>\n<p>The recommendations, titled &#8220;6 Steps to 7X,&#8221; aim to increase Snap&#8217;s stock price from $3.93 to over $26 per share.<\/p>\n<p>Irenic&#8217;s recommendations include shutting down or spinning off Specs, the company&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/01\/28\/snap-establishes-specs-subsidiary-for-its-ar-glasses.html\">augmented reality glasses<\/a> unit. The unit was announced to be a wholly owned subsidiary of Snap in January.<\/p>\n<p>Referencing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/02\/26\/block-laying-off-about-4000-employees-nearly-half-of-its-workforce.html\">previous layoffs<\/a> from <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-5\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/UBER\/\">Uber<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-6\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/META\/\">Meta<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> and <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-7\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/XYZ\/\">Block<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span>, Irenic said Snap should use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/ai-effect\/\">artificial intelligence<\/a> more heavily to cut 1,000 employees, or 21% of its workforce.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;AI can and should replace many existing roles,&#8221; Irenic wrote under &#8216;rationalize costs,&#8217; the company&#8217;s second recommendation. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p>According to the letter, Irenic Capital manages about $2.5 billion in assets and owns about <a href=\"https:\/\/savesnap.s3.us-west-1.amazonaws.com\/Snap+-+Irenic+Letter+-+vF.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2.5% of Snap&#8217;s Class A shares<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Snap welcomes input from all shareholders and regularly engages with investors on strategy, capital allocation, and governance,&#8221; Snap chairman Michael Lynton told CNBC in a statement. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve taken steps to improve performance, strengthen free cash flow, and offset dilution, and will continue to evaluate actions that drive long-term value for all stockholders,&#8221;
