Shares of TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 2.72 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.85 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(up 1.08 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 1.02 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 0.95 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 0.79 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.77 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.77 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(down 0.58 per cent) and Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.46 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.13 per cent up at 25398.3.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 21.7 points at 24323.85, while the BSE Sensex stood down 53.07 points at 79996.6. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 ended in the green, while 14 closed in the red. Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, Rail Vikas Nigam and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Landmark Prop, Rail Vikas Nigam, Shilpa Medicare, Marksans Pharma and Ahluwalia Contracts hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Remsons Ind, IRIS Clothings, Future Supply Chain, Baid Leasing and Praxis Home Retail hit their fresh 52-week lows.
